In line with the corporate vision promoted by the Group’s CEO, Sebastian Rudow:
“To build a successful long-term future, we must act responsibly, with an open mind and creativity”.
Therefore, as much as possible, Recylex S. A. is committed to set an example and act in favor of the environment by promoting collective actions and the individual commitment of its employees. Implementing our values of commitment and respect also means promoting environmental awareness and facilitating actions to highlight the fragility of our planet and the importance of protecting it.
In this respect, the team at Recylex’s headquarters in Suresnes took its lunch break on Friday, September 20, 2019 to participate in the World Clean-up Day.
After a “safety and sorting instructions” briefing, the team of 7 people spent two hours cleaning the neighboring park, the nearby streets and the banks of the Seine. In the end, nearly 120 litres of waste were collected. What was found: all the usual types of waste of course (mainly plastic packages and bottles, aluminium cans, various papers), but also Li-ion phone batteries, pacifiers, and reading glasses. It should be noted that the collection of cigarette butts surprised the team by the magnitude of the task and the time to devote to it.
The company provided all the equipment for the operation – garbage pliers, thick protective gloves, yellow safety vests and reinforced garbage bags for collection.
Sorting was carried out after the activity: the recyclable waste was put in the yellow bins for recycling in the authorized facilities and the rest sent for disposal when there was no other option.
The World Clean-up Day is a social action movement that aims to mobilize citizens, private and public actors to deal with the waste problem by organizing clean-up operations everywhere. This great idea began in Estonia in 2008 and has spread like wildfire all over the world.
