On the occasion of the company anniversary and the inauguration of the new regenerative thermal oxidation plant (RTO), Recytech S.A. organised two open days, attended by selected industry representatives, invited business partners, the public and several media representatives.
With an investment of almost 3 million euros, a modern environmental technology was set up to adapt the Recytech plant to the legal requirements of exhaust gas cleaning in accordance with the BAT directive (BAT= Best Available Technology). The advantage of the RTO is its ability to recover heat energy. The RTO unit used by Recytech works completely autothermal in normal operation mode. Recytech thereby strategically positions itself as a recognized and innovative market leader in zinc recycling.
Frédéric Heymans, Chief Executive Officer of Recytech SA, commented on this special day:
“Recytech is a leading player in zinc recycling. Our special commitment to the environment is reflected in forward-looking innovations and their integration into our existing processes. For example, we want to further reduce our ecological footprint by adapting our processes. With the new environmental technology for reducing volatile organic compounds, we achieve significantly lower emissions than the limits permitted by French and European Regulations. In this way, we can be sure that the future of the site in the region is secure. Although there is nothing new about the concept, the size of the RTO unit is much larger than the average. It is one of the largest of its kind working in this process environment. The plant is self-sufficient in its energy profile and may even be able to supply electricity to our other processes in the medium term. Our employees are aware that they have to constantly question and improve the service for the waste producers, the quality of our products and the process stability. We are fortunate to have experienced employees who are very loyal to the company and proud of their role in the recycling industry”.
