What are the certifications of C2P France?
C2P France has 3 different certifications. Firstly, since 2006 we are ISO 14001:2015 certified, which specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system. In addition, since 2007 C2P has also been certified ISO 9001:2015 for its Quality Management System. Finally, since 2008 C2P is also OSHAS 18001 certified for the prevention of Health and Safety risks.
Why is it important for C2P to have these certifications?
Above all, it is a global and voluntary approach by the company, in line with the Group’s sustainable performance strategy. Being a key player in the circular economy since 1988, it is a commitment of everyone at C2P to make the company a responsible employer as well as a reliable and quality business partner. Our certifications validate this commitment and our QHSE approach.
From a commercial point of view, this is also an undeniable asset. Given the current BtoB environment, it has even become almost a kind of mandatory commitment. Working with a certified company like C2P allows us to give our business partners guarantees on our ability to operate responsibly and to deliver products that meets their expectations. This is very reassuring for our customers and allows C2P to position itself in certain markets and applications that would not be possible without these certifications. For our suppliers, it is also the assurance that their waste will be recycled in accordance with the best practices in force, in a logic of real circular economy.
How to obtain a certification?
In general, it is an approach that requires a very strong involvement of the management and a lot of preparation work beforehand because it commits the company in the long term. All the standards and frameworks to be applied must be well integrated upstream and implemented. Indeed, in the event of a discrepancy between the reality of the company’s daily life and what is required, it is necessary to get in tune with it before starting the certification process. Once everything is in place, we will call on an independent specialized organization that will audit the company for several days.
The objective is to verify that the company has implemented all the measures, documentation and actions required under the standard in question. This will result in a detailed report that will mention any major or minor deviations, observations and areas for improvement.
The certification issued by this independent body is valid for three years. During these three years, a follow-up audit will be carried out each year with the same organization, namely two follow-up audits and one renewal audit. During these follow-up audits, the certifying body will check that the company is continuing its approach and its improvement plan.
What does "version 2015" mean for ISO 9001 or 14001 standards?
The standards and norms to be respected to obtain these certifications are determined at the international level by the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and published at the national level by organizations such as AFNOR. These standards are regularly updated and the latest version was produced in 2015. These updates are common to the various Quality, Health, Safety and Environment standards.
C2P is in the process of obtaining ISO 45001:2018 certification, why this choice?
C2P has chosen to be certified ISO 45001:2018 in order to implement best practices in terms of occupational health and safety. This is one of the main drivers of our internal policy.
OHSAS was not an international but a private reference system and it’s due to disappear after 2021. All OHSAS 18001 certified companies have therefore been “invited” to migrate to the international ISO 45001:2018 standard, which is our current approach.
This is obviously a new certification and there are certain changes that we must implement, this standard being a little more demanding than OHSAS 18001. In particular, we must take even more into account all the personnel present on site, employees, subcontractors, external contributors and others.
