Zinc is one of the essential trace elements and indispensable for the health of humans and animals. It is involved in a multitude of metabolic reactions and influences numerous processes in our body such as the immune system, growth and wound healing.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), almost half of the population suffers from zinc deficiency, making them more susceptible to infections and skin diseases. Growth disturbances, loss of appetite and fatigue are the most common deficiency symptoms, especially for children. These deficiencies can be compensated by an appropriate diet or zinc supplements.
Since zinc is a very versatile metal, it is used in many different areas. The high-purity zinc oxides of Nozinco GmbH, known as Zinkweiss Harzsiegel® CF (cadmium-free), are used, for example, in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals as a mineral UV filter against intensive UV-A radiation and for wound healing. Typical applications of the product Zinkweiss Harzsiegel® can be found in the chemical industry, in tire and rubber production as well as in the glass and ceramics industry. In addition, we produce HZO Farbenzinkstaub®, which is used in corrosion protection paints.
